Prayer for Pope Francis

All over the world, people are currently united in prayer to support the Pope at this critical moment for his health and to ask for God's protection and help for him. Let us give the prisoners the opportunity to join this prayer movement. The prayer of the weak, the poor and the marginalised counts for something special in the eyes of God. Pope Francis himself pointed this out at the last World Day of the Poor in November 2024, which he chose to have the motto: 'The prayer of the poor goes up to God' (cf. Sir 21:5).

Lord, God of life,
you want only good for people, you care that we humans can live peacefully, healthily and happily.
You have listened to the prayers of your believers countless times throughout history.
Therefore, today we ask you for Pope Francis, who has shown us his affection and love on many occasions: Be with him in his illness.
Give his weakened body new power, give him strong breath and grant him a soon recovery! Hear the prayer of your unworthy servants and extend your blessing hands over him and all the sick!
We ask you through Jesus Christ, our brother and Lord.
